The best way to read the stories

The best way to read the stories is on the screen - that way, you keep the animated creatures, and you can click through to see the larger pictures of flowers and the meadow and the Old Farmhouse any time you want.

A number of parents have asked if we could include shorter versions for younger children. We're delighted to do so. For our younger readers, and for any of their parents or grandparents who may be looking for brief bedtime stories, there are simpler, shorter versions of the original stories.

To read the stories on the screen please select a link below.

Want to save the stories and read them later?

There are three easy ways to do this - choose which one you prefer:

1.) Print and Keep - click on the Print button and your printer will print off the story, complete with pictures. If you've selected Larger or Largest font size (see 'Print too Small?' above), your printer will print the story with bigger type size.

2.) Save - click on File on your toolbar, then select Save As.
The latest browsers will automatically save ALL the information for you.
If you run an older type browser follow these simple steps or check your help file:
Click on "File" on your toolbar, then select "Save As". Select the folder where you want to put the story. Where it says "Save as type" select html. You may lose the pictures

3.) Download as a zip file - all you need do is click on the story you want.
There are no graphics or pictures with the zip file.
Follow the simple instructions and the file with the story will download from a self extracting zip file containing a text only document that will automatically unzip the story to your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder.
